Charlotte Roustang

I was born in Paris. After attending various theater classes and acting as a child and teenager, I went on to study business and management and specialized in Information and Communications Technology. During my studies, I founded an internet start-up (a portal for young adults with 15 journalists), after what I became a senior consultant in the consulting firm Cap Gemini Ernst & Young.

In 2001, my early passion caught up with me again : I aimed to become a filmmaker. I started in Berlin as a production trainee to Philippe Bober at The Coproduction Office and then as director assistant to Carsten Ludwig on his first feature.

After gaining several experiences, I went back to Paris where I studied Cinema at the University of Paris 8. There, I directed short movies, image films and documentaries (such as “Paris de Femmes” – a 52 min. piece for France 3). I founded in 2015 Collectif Prod, a collective for young filmmakers. I also worked as an actress, camerawoman, director assistant and casting director. Apart from the cinema field, I organized several photographic exhibitions for the Paris City Hall, among others.

I moved back to Berlin in 2009, where I shot my third short film, “The Saviour” (released in festivals such as Hof, Berlin, Mumbai and broadcast on Arte in 2015) and my first feature film, „My lonely Christmas in Berlin“ that is currently in postproduction.

Beside directing, I love to write : I have finished a new script for a French film "Noces de diamant" for which Im currently looking for producers, and Im developing 3 international TV series projects ("The Killing Water", "The Queens" and "Natural born dreamer"), projects where I involve co-authors from France and Germany.
